A Bit About Me

'There Is No Fashion Without Textiles'

Having had an eye for fashion from a very early age I have found myself constantly pro-active in refining and further my skills in order to constantly keep up with the fast paced nature of the fashion industry. However once I had started my BA in Fashion Design I found myself wanting to do more than develop new garment silhouettes but rather to create the textile that formed them. During an internship at Ashley Williams London I met a seamstress who gave me the wise advice stated above, this, along with meeting the knitwear designer at Ashley Williams, led to discovering my passion for fashion knitwear. The freedom knitwear gives in terms of stretch, pattern and structure was undeniably captivating and allowed me to develop my style of adjustable fashion for all individuals to wear and feel confident in, removing the need for gendered labels in fashion that I have been exploring in my masters postgraduate degree.

The team working and problem solving skills I have developed through out my BA, MA and working life have allowed me to understand the best ways to communicate and be adaptable with those you are working with to achieve success. I have always been keen to expand and develop my passion and skill set in the industry by learning new skills on industry standard software, such as the adobe suite and shima programming. It is clear with my proven record of high achievement within my education that I am a highly organised, dependable and driven individual, which I am now focused on using to gain a successful career in knitwear.
